Male Breast Reduction Case 34

This patient had gynecomastia which was successfully treated with liposuction in Atlanta at our plastic surgery office. He is 32 years old and an avid weightlifter who had developed some breast tissue beneath each nipple / areola complex. This excess tissue obviously detracted from his toned and muscular appearance, but it was also causing him some discomfort.

During the consultation, he shared that he wanted to improve his chest contour and
appearance. His surgeon recommended removal of glandular breast tissue in combination with liposuction of the chest to remove excess fatty deposits.

Gynecomastia can form for many reasons, and some estimate that nearly half of all adult males have some degree of enlarged, feminine-looking breasts. Gynecomastia often occurs as a result of weight gain, but can be caused by many factors, including use of certain drugs / medications or genetic factors. In some cases, the condition will resolve itself over time, but many men live with an enlarged breast appearance for several years before seeking treatment.

After his Atlanta breast reduction surgery, this patient has been able to achieve the squared-off, masculine chest that he has spent so many hours in the gym to create. In addition, the physical pain he was experiencing is now gone. He is happy with his new look and is glad he chose a surgical solution.
